SA Hunters National President’s Shoot 20 August 2022

Saturday 20 August on the dry plains of the dusty free state with winds of up to 28km per hour and temperatures of -3 degrees were hardly the ideal shooting competition conditions. However the top 200 shotist’s from SA Hunters were there to compete in the National finals of Presidents Cup shoot.
The competition was split over four categories with140 in the Open class, 20 Juniors, 20 ladies and 20 Seniors.
The Competitors were also divided into four details and each shot the plains game exercise (on a springbok target) thereafter all four details participated in shooting the bushveld exercise (on a zebra target). To benchmark the results its interesting to note that the highest possible score for the competition is 720.24
The conditions were as such that the results seen previously were unachievable but nonetheless some very impressive results included:
• Winner of the Open Class – CCJ Bester from Edelvalk Branch – score of 690.11
• Winner of the Juniors Class – FJ van Heerden from Diamant Branch – score of 660.08
• Winner of the Ladies Class – CJ Kilian from Brits Branch – score of 650.13
• Winner of the Seniors Class – HH Louw from Riemland Branch – a score of 670.12

What’s more there were 56 shotists whoqualified for National Platinum Colours (90% and a minimum of 290 on either exercise).
Reloading Technology is proud that Henk Becker ended 41st and qualified for Platinum colours and Spike Becker ended 11th in the Seniors.
